Nat Romaine: I'm running for President because I want to make this school a better place for every single person and because I think I’m the best candidate for President. To be President you need experience, you need time, you need commitment, you need maturity, you need good leadership skills, you need to be adaptable, and you need to be able to cope with our current administration. I feel like I'm the only candidate that meets all of these qualifications to be President and that’s why I want your vote when election time comes (May 25th and 26th in the main hallway). Also, out of all the candidates running this year, I’m very happy to say that I have the most experience. As a loyal Sophomore Representative last year, I learned what it meant to put my best foot forward so that I could make this school a better place for everyone. As the current Junior Representative, I have been very involved with Student Government this year and have been heavily involved with various events such as: CHCCS Dance Marathon, CHCCS Olympics, Random Acts of Kindness, Career Fair, Club Day, Puppies, Winter Semi-Formal, PORCH Canned Food Drive, Dodgeball Tournament, and Walk For Education. When election time comes, I want you to remember to vote for experience and to vote for me President!
Katrina Nunez: Hey CHHS! I think I’d be a good president because I have a lot of ideas on how to make our school more cohesive and to make sure everyone has a voice in student government. I have a lot of work ethic, and my priority would be to make sure everyone is heard, and I’d try to make sure everyone is happy. I’m not afraid to go out of my comfort zone, make myself look silly, or talk to administration and teachers. I feel that I am good at speaking to adults in a respectable manner while still getting the point across, and this would be very helpful in a position as president. Even though I may not be the most experienced, I’m not afraid to work hard to learn my way around. I want to be president because I feel like I can make the biggest impact on the school, and I have a very strong love and pride for our school. I volunteer with student government and I really care about the image and the cohesiveness of CHHS.
Zeus Street: I want to be president to show that no matter who we grow up to be we still have a common ground. No matter what that common ground is it levels the playing field, and we would do anything to keep that common ground apart of us at all times, so why not take that same passion and put it in the school? Why not change the things people see and think about CHHS? Why not try to make a small step into an even bigger step for those still to come the campus we see everyday? I want to be the one who fights for the school if no one else will.
Katlin Alston: My name is Katlin Alston I am a sophomore, rising junior and I am running to be your chapel hill Student Government Vice President. I am running because I think that I have some good Ideas on how to have more fun events that cater to everyone. If your vote for me I will work to bring more venders like Kona Ice to school and begin a series of notable alumni speakers.
Katherine DeHart: As a junior who is very involved through 3 varsity sports, numerous clubs, and Student Government, I have realized that there are still so many improvements that could take place at Chapel Hill High School. I want to use my organization and leadership skills to help improve our school's community. If elected, I pledge to increase school pride and positivity and to create even more events for the student body to meaningfully give back to the community. I'll be an active listener and take all opinions into consideration in order to help make Chapel Hill High School the best it can be.
Daphne Charlotte: I want to run for CHHS Secretary because ever since I joined Student Government I have enjoyed being apart of a group of students who want to make an influence on the school. I enjoy IFC volunteering, RAK, and the other actions that Student Government implements that make some kind of difference on the community. I would like to be a bigger help to the students, teachers, and administration. People should vote for me because I plan to make announcements during fourth period clearer, more concise, and shorter. I plan to help out the Student Government officers, and work hard to make it work more efficiently. I plan to represent all parties best I can, and with experience through freshman, sophomore, and junior year. Lastly, they should vote for me because I really care about the school and I plan to use this opportunity to act accordingly.
Raquel Ruiter: I am involved in many clubs around Chapel Hill that strive to make campus a positive atmosphere. I also participate in Cross-Country and track. In my free time I enjoy volunteering at the animal shelter and library, as well as gardening
Lauren Griesedieck: After working with student government over the past couple of years scheduling puppy visits, I decided to run for senior rep. I'm running because I want to make sure that our student body is able to feel like they are having their needs met. This would include improving communication between student government and student clubs. I think this is extremely important and would make school more enjoyable for everyone. I'd also like to continue random acts of kindness, puppy visits, and other activities that reward the students.
Matt Eberst: Hi my name is Matt Eberst and I am running for CHHS Jr. Rep for the 2017-2018 school year. I am running for this position because I have gotten to know so many of the upcoming junior class and want to see us continue to be great people both in and out of school. I feel like you should vote for me because I am a hardworking student and I dedicate myself to helping the school by going to sporting events, plays, etc. Thank you and I hope I have your support
Anna Zolotor: I'm Anna Zolotor, and I want to be your 2017-2018 Junior Rep because I love Chapel Hill High School, and I want all of you to love it too! As a Student Government senator for the past two years, a student representative on our School Improvement team, a member of the CHHS women's soccer team, and a co-president of the Habitat for Humanity club, and a member of CHHS Project UNIFY, I understand our school from many different angles. If I am elected to be your Junior Rep, my biggest goals will be to make school more fun for everyone, to improve communication between Student Government and the student body, and to make sure every CHHS student feels heard
Jess Schinsky: Hi everyone! I am running for Sophomore Rep because I want to improve the school and serve as a voice for the sophomore class. I want to help make CHHS the best school it can possibly be. Because it truly is a great school with super motivated learners! I will work as diligently as possible to ensure I get the most out of my experience as Sophomore Representative. Thank you so much!!
